Well we are excited, we are counting down our days till we go back to Warcombe Farm. This will be our 4th holiday here. We have been on our own as a family twice and this will be our 2nd visit with friends. We have recommended it to family, who have also loved it.
The showers are better than any homes and are warm when the weather is rubbish. The pitches are protected from the wind and relatively private. We've never had any noise problems and even though my kids are a bit old for the park, it is always popular with the other kids :-) … Let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather in August!!! x
Five minutes from Woolacombe
This site is extremely well maintained, clean and tidy, bins emptied regularly, lovely play park for the children, friendly and helpful staff, excellent facilities for washing and showering etc. Although I can see the washing up-area would get busy when the site is full.
DH wasn't keen on the fact that the pitches were pre-marked and you weren't able to choose your own area on arrival but I didn't find it a problem.
The site was quite exposed to the elements in places however some of the pitches were more sheltered so do request that if desired.
The reason we chose this site was because of it's proximity to Woolacombe and it was a five minute drive away. The shop on site had ample basic items (milk, bread, butter, eggs, bacon etc.) and operated an ice-pack hire system - the prices were ok for a camp-site.
I thought the cost for 3 nights, 2 adults and 2 children was quite pricey but then I guess they have more overheads in terms of maintenance than some more basic sites.
I would definitely stay here again but would possibly try another one in the Woolacombe area first just to compare.
