Fishing Holidays

Many of our visitors come to Warcombe for a fishing holiday. We are one of only a few North Devon camping parks to offer a private coarse fishing lake to our campers.

We established a coarse fishing lake at Warcombe in 1998 which offers great sport for all the family. The lake is well stocked with Carp, Tench, Roach and Rudd as well as Perch. The water occupies around an acre of land and provides a haven for wildlife.

Even if you are not a fisherman you can enjoy the beautiful vista, watching the amazing water birds that can be seen around the water. Heron, ducks, Snipe and Kingfishers are spotted regularly. We have some lovely lakeside pitches with their own gate access to the water where you can rest, picnic or get out your rods and cast out!

Superb

This is a first class campsite. The pitches are of a very good size and well spaced out.

The site is very clean and tidy, wash-rooms always of a high standard, bins etc. emptied many times throughout the day, grass and general site very well kept.

Plenty of friendly staff on hand to help, a well stocked shop if a little too small and opens a little late at 8. 30am.

My only gripe would be the WiFi - unless you are pitched very close to a mast or you are right at the top end of the park, don't bother buying it - the signal was poor and we couldn't use it after paying £24. I complained but you are told to contact the provider - apparently they are just the middle man and could not give a refund. I found this a bit naughty as they are the ones selling it and I certainly was not the only one to complain so they are fully aware there is a problem!
All in all this is a 5* site.

Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
Thank you very much for your review and kind words - glad you enjoyed the park. Regarding the Wi-Fi we have had very few problems until peak season - at times the volume of users had suddenly peaked and some customers experienced connection difficulties. As a result we have paid to upgrade the site coverage and this has helped. One thing to bear in mind is that our rural broadband network does not have the speeds that city users with Fibre-optic lines are used to. We give out a leaflet explaining this as well as contact details for the provider and it seems these steps have helped.
We hope you will stay at Warcombe again soon.

This is our 3rd year camping at Warcombe Farm and without doubt we will be returning next year as well!

There are a variety of pitches to choose from, but we always choose the Premier pitch as they are completely level, very spacious and come with a sturdy picnic bench, water tap and electric hook up.

The site is extremely well run and the staff constantly monitor the site for any issues, without being at all intrusive. The facilities are amazing. Always sparkly clean and so many toilets and showers, you never have to wait even in peak season. There are also plenty of dishwashing facilities, a laundry room and a well stocked shop.

We love camping at this site as the children thoroughly enjoy fishing on the lake (£3. 50 per rod, per half day). It is also a dog friendly site and there is a fantastic dedicated area for walking your dog off the lead.

It is ideally located for exploring North Devon. We can thoroughly recommend the walk to Heddon's Mouth or a visit to the Valley of the Rocks.

Wifi is available at a charge (£24 for 4 devices for a week). There is a good child's play area, although to be honest there are so many other things to do, our children have not used it!

There are different food vans that visit every night if you don't feel like cooking; from wood fired pizza ovens, seafood vans and even Thai food.

I can't fault this camp site in any way. It is not the cheapest of sites, but it is top quality.
