Spent 9 days here in August when the weather was mainly windy and raining. The staff were really friendly and helpful - after showing us to our pitch, they put chippings down to soak up some of the rain and mud. The pitches were really generous and the strategic planting of trees made you feel like you also had some privacy.
The shower/toilet block was lovely and warm with piping hot showers. The shower cubicles were also quite spacious which is great if you've also got young children. There was also a shelving unit, chair and a bin - again very useful. They were always clean too.
The site is ideally situated for getting to other places such as Woolacombe, Ilfracombe, Exmoor etc. We tended to drive to where we were going and then walk as didn't really like to walk down the narrow roads - especially with the children.
When we go back to Devon, I would definitely visit this site again.
We spent 8 nights here recently in our motorhome and found everything just perfect. The layout of the campsite is lovely, plenty of grass pitches, with or without electric, lots are quite private with hedges round, then there are more open hardstanding pitches with electric or fully serviced. They are all centred around a very pretty fishing lake.
Two sanitary blocks, absolutely fantastic with underfloor heating and kept spotless! They also have a small cafe/takeaway with various menus, including breakfast. The wardens are so very helpful and nothing is too much trouble, especially Glen who, because my husband is disabled, did most of our setting up, and Gloria who put us on a lovely pitch just yards away from both the facilities and lake.
Close to a pub (carvery delicious!). We will definitely be back for more, it's so relaxing and has a fantastic atmosphere!!
