Woolacombe Warren and beach walk is a circular walk, including a stretch of the South West Coast Path, through the sand dunes and along the beach at Woolacombe. A haven for wild-flowers and bird life in the summer.
After a bit of a tricky journey down the narrow lanes (we managed to lose a bumper off the caravan after having an argument with a bus and a hidden wall) we finally arrived.
What a fantastic site. We had a serviced pitch which was very private, but we lost the sun early evening. The shop was well stocked, and one of the ladies even offered me a bottle of tonic from her own supplies if the shop had none left. The play park was great. The dog walk was the best I have ever come across. The toilet/shower facilities were fabulous too.
There is a lake for fishing but we never used it.
Great access to Woolacombe.
Would highly recommend for families.
We have just returned from this site, and this was our first visit here. It won't be our last! As others have said, the main plus points of this site have to be the excellent dog walking field and the toilets/shower blocks.
The site was very clean, and although busy didn't feel crowded. We had a lovely pitch surrounded on three sides by shrubbery -
The only down side is that we felt quite close to the pitch opposite, and when we return will take more with us in the way of a wind break/shield to afford us that bit more privacy when sitting outside.
But this is only a minor point - overall a super family and dog friendly camp site in a perfect location.
