Camping with sea views

Camping with sea views

omg what can I say .. lovely staff, lovely sea view pitch, the most amazing showers and toilets, fantastic North Devon campsite, lovely walks from the site, lovely restaurants in Woolacombe, can not wait to return.

This is a well oiled machine of camping, everything has been considered... whether it is the cleanliness, kids park, fishing, sea views, private sheltered spots, or pick your own herbs from the boxes at reception... this is certainly gonna be a regular holiday site for us in years to come.

We have just come back from 2 weeks at Warcombe Farm and before we left we booked again for next year, which in itself must tell you something. We were pitched this year next to the fishing lake, which we will avoid next year as it is a magnet for fishermen of all ages and we prefer the quiet that low season provides.

We cannot comment on the play area provided for children other than to say it looked well thought out and was all of sturdy wooden construction and I know ours would have enjoyed it when they were small. For next year we have selected a more secluded pitch surrounded by trees, this is also the beauty of the site in that it caters for all tastes and requirements as there are larger more open spaces for more than one unit, although each pitch is clearly defined, to smaller individual pitches catering for one, two or more. The choice is yours.

We could not fault any of the other facilities, the toilet and shower blocks were very clean and warm, the shower cubicles had shelving units that gave you ample space to place towels, clothes, wash bag etc. A bin and a stool were also provided and I cannot rate these highly enough, there was also, a family bathroom which included a bath with shower over with free hot water. In the smaller block there are wet rooms all of a good size together with toilets that have hand basins within the cubicle. The washing up facilities were good, though I could imagine that in the height of summer it would be busy as they have 4 sinks and draining boards. Washing machines and tumble driers are also provided and the cost is average at £4 per load with tumble driers £1 for 20 mins. There was also a couple of Belfast sinks for any hand washing requirement.

On arrival, we were given a site map, though not shown to our pitch, but then we didn't get there 'til almost 5 and reception closed at 5. We were also given clear written instructions to the nearest Tesco.

All in all for service, friendliness, cleanliness and overall site we can fault Warcombe Farm and can see that we will be camping here for many years to come.

First class experience

Have just returned from a long weekend at Warcombe Farm. I haven't been camping for quite some time, preferring a few more 'home comforts' these days, but friends persuaded me it would be a good idea. . . However, I couldn't have been happier with the whole experience.

My friends and I chose to book one of the Premier pitches by the lake, which gives you your own water supply alongside electric hook-up, gravel parking, BBQ stand and lovely picnic bench. The pitch size is very generous and there was ample room, even though we had quite a large tent. The shower/toilet block are exceptionally well maintained and the under-floor hearing certainly helped sell the idea of camping again.

The welcome we received was extremely warm and welcoming, but the service didn't end there and the staff certainly went over and above in all our contact with them. Glynn and Dave have to a specific mention!

For those of you with canine companions, you couldn't be better catered for. The beautiful 14 acres they have set aside for dog walking and nature reserve is an absolute credit to Warcombe Farm.
Overall a fabulous stay (albeit short) and I will definitely be back.
