Coastal Walks

Warcombe Farm Camping Park offers direct access to the North Devon Coastal Footpath network. There is no better place for walking - either a gentle stroll or a more challenging walk. We are ideally situated to explore the great outdoors, being surrounded by glorious scenery, rolling hills and dramatic coastline.

Spent 8 days here from 7th August. Weather was mixed but the site didn't get waterlogged even through the heaviest of downpours. Reiterate previous comments about cleanliness, great showers etc. The pitch sizes are very generous and the surrounding scenery is very pretty.

It's not obvious if you don't know about it, but if you walk through the woodland area (dog walking too) you can exit into a field and onto a public footpath. This avoids the roads which are bad enough in a car but terrible if trying to walk along them (which we did!). The footpaths take you to Lee Bay, Mortehoe and Woolacombe. Steep walk back but from the beach at Mortehoe but you do feel you deserve a glass of wine while you gaze across the lake!

The shops sells a map of walks around the area for a couple of quid, which we found useful.

There are areas for the kids to play, but some loud ones decided to play footie in front of our tent (ball hit car several times), this is down to parents not adhering to the rules, rather than the fault of the site, but maybe some more signs up, say near the toilets would be good. Would recommend the site to anyone, but did see two other sites en route to Mortehoe which looked equally good.

All the reviews that we read were true

We had a lovely time at this campsite. All the reviews that we read were true: the facilities were great and very clean, it is generally very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It was very quiet, but since we arrived shortly after a storm that apparently wrecked 30 tents, I think we timed it just right!

The campsite shop is very small, though does stock the essentials. The family shower rooms are fab - huge, with a shower, basin and loo all in the same room. The standard showers were also very spacious.

Some of the pitches have a gentle slope, so you need to be able to pitch your tent accordingly, or be happy to roll!

Brilliant on-site take-away served good meals like lasagne, chilli and curry as well as the more standard fish and chips (theirs is much better than the local chippy!), pizza etc.

At the bottom of the campsite is a big field that has been planted for woodland where they intend to put picnic tables and can walk dogs. Lovely to see a site taking such a long term view and being prepared to commit to such a project.

Generally excellent site, would go again.
