Woolacombe beach in May

Woolacombe beach in May

Much has been spoken about Woolacombe beach for and sometimes high expectations can lead to disappointment. But not on with this instance. A walk down from the campsite, through Mortehoe and then along this wonderful beach, at any time of the year - it is both stunning and beautiful. You can see why Woolacombe Beach was voted the Best Beach in the UK and fourth in Best Beach in Europe by Tripadvisor visitors.

It is such a vast open space at low tide and it is lovely to be able to walk the dog along the whole beach out of season.

Perfect start for a seasonal pitch!

We are new to caravanning, but loved the look and feel of Warcombe Farm before we acquired the caravan so there was really only one place we wanted to be on a seasonal pitch.

When we arrived to set up, we were delighted with our pitch but then faced the task of setting up. But, never fear, Glyn and Gloria were on hand to point us in the right direction and were both really helpful. Glyn in particular saved the day with his knowledge of awnings and general campsite etiquette.

Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you again and getting to know you both better through the remainder of the season!

This is our 3rd year camping at Warcombe Farm and without doubt we will be returning next year as well!

There are a variety of pitches to choose from, but we always choose the Premier pitch as they are completely level, very spacious and come with a sturdy picnic bench, water tap and electric hook up.

The site is extremely well run and the staff constantly monitor the site for any issues, without being at all intrusive. The facilities are amazing. Always sparkly clean and so many toilets and showers, you never have to wait even in peak season. There are also plenty of dishwashing facilities, a laundry room and a well stocked shop.

We love camping at this site as the children thoroughly enjoy fishing on the lake (£3. 50 per rod, per half day). It is also a dog friendly site and there is a fantastic dedicated area for walking your dog off the lead.

It is ideally located for exploring North Devon. We can thoroughly recommend the walk to Heddon's Mouth or a visit to the Valley of the Rocks.

Wifi is available at a charge (£24 for 4 devices for a week). There is a good child's play area, although to be honest there are so many other things to do, our children have not used it!

There are different food vans that visit every night if you don't feel like cooking; from wood fired pizza ovens, seafood vans and even Thai food.

I can't fault this camp site in any way. It is not the cheapest of sites, but it is top quality.
