We just had 2 nights at this site as we wanted to revisit the area before continuing South. We were given a huge, serviced, grass pitch near the 14, yes 14 acre, dog walk and woodland area. This has mown grass through it and it's ideal if you have dogs or just enjoy walking. There are seats and bins scattered around too.
The site was pretty big and the playground looked quite impressive and seemed full of kids enjoying themselves. It was quite foggy when we visited but we went to Ilfracombe, Mortehoe and on to Lynton where the railway takes you down to Lynmouth.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the loos were great. If I have a nit to pick I would say that there could have been a bit more flora to pretty it up a bit but there was a delightful herb garden next to reception which was a great addition. This was almost the dearest site we have stayed at but it was good for us and we would return if in the area.
We love this site! This was our 4th stay at Warcombe Farm and we will be going back.
Firstly the staff are so helpful and seem to work tirelessly to keep the site clean. The showers are always hot which is such a bonus when the weather is chilly. We always take a pitch down by the field as the pitches down there have trees around them and it feels cosy. Its away from the park, our boys are older so can take themselves up there, so quieter. The field for dog walking is by far the pettiest we have seen with great views of the sea. There is a lovely walk leading down to Lee Bay which is well worth doing and not too taxing even for little ones (apart from the steep walk back but there's no rush when in Devon!).
Friends joined us for a weekend but they opted for a pitch near the top of the site by the play park as they have little ones. Although it was busier and noisier from kids playing the atmosphere is still nice and the noise soon stops when the park closes.
This year was a little on the wet side to say the least but well managed site and always a pleasure.
We want to say a huge thank you to Mike, George and Judith who were all so helpful in our stay at Warcombe Farm. The site itself was immaculate, fantastic toilet block and showers. A very warm and helpful welcome - even though we arrived outside of office hours. Both Mike and George were tremendously helpful with assisting us with a bit of necessary maintenance!
This is really
Just returned from a weeks stay here,
The site and facilities were spotless. We stayed at the bottom of the site on a very spacious pitch overlooking the fields and sea.
Most pitches further down the site are separated by borders of small shrubs, or are in wooden glades
Which gave a private feel to it.
The dog walk is the best we have every come across, 14 acres of young woodland with mown paths, and picnic tables.
Hot food and cream teas available on 5 days a week. We had the vegetable curry one night and it was good.
The play area looked good, although not many children about whilst we were there not being the school
Holidays. Large fishing lake.
Lovely footpaths to Mortehoe and Lee from the site.
A large pleasant site with plenty of hook up areas for caravanners and a lot of space for camping.
The camping areas are very pleasant especially past the fishing lake, the owners have left a lot of the original vegetation in place giving lots of secluded pitches and some larger areas.
Pitches at the top of the site slope, and past the lake tend to be flat. A great cheap site for an occasional visit in a tent.
Large site, 100+ pitches. Has its own fishing lake and a lot of space for kiddies to play and run around.
We went in the middle of the summer holidays, which was brave as we do not have children. The site operates a good policy of no children playing after about 9pm and this was adhered to while we were there.
Overall, the site was excellent and would recommend it as a good base for the north of Devon.
This is a lovely campsite. The toilets and showers are extremely clean and well maintained. There is a small well stocked shop. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Glynn who helped me start my car on departure day after the battery had gone flat.
Great week had by all!
We have just returned from a family week camping... We had pitch 129 which is massive and perfectly situated for the toilets, lake and park. The toilets are pristine and we never had to queue. The showers surpass the toilets easily being the best I've ever had camping, the shelving units is brilliant! If all the family showers are full the normal ones are plenty big enough for an adult and child.
Glyn is brilliant! Friendly and loved by all the children, in particular my son Oscar! We will, I'm sure return one day, however due to policy and party size I'm not sure it will be the annual family camping holiday we hoped it would be... We need somewhere that would allow 5/6 tents all of one party which is a shame but definitely would return if group size was smaller!
Thank you all
Warcombe Farm Camping Park:
Thank you for your kind words about our park. We love to see families enjoying the fishing - especially many young people who get their first fishing experience here at Warcombe. Glyn, Mike, Stuart and all the staff are pleased to help and advise with the fishing whenever they can. We do take larger groups outside peak season, as well as rallies and larger family bookings. Give us a call on 01271 870690 to discuss larger group bookings. We hope to see you at Warcombe again very soon!
Myself, my husband and our children stayed here for a week, and we had a lovely week.
There is a great park for children and the facilities are brilliant, there is a shop, a cafe, where the food was lovely and they even do a delivery service in the mornings, if you wanted it. The shower blocks are so clean and very spacious I have to say the best I have seen, they even have a bathroom where I could bath our baby.
There are washing machines and tumble dryers also which came in very handy. There is a lake where my husband and our eldest son went fishing most days, also the views surrounding the campsite are beautiful.
The staff was also lovely and very helpful when needed. Very friendly and polite our son learnt a lot from Glyn who works on the site while fishing, he is great with children and gets children into wanting to fish and see the wildlife around the campsite.
Also Gloria who works there, was a great help showing us around the site and also telling us where to visit with the children; Milky way and the big sheep and Woolacombe beach and the dunes was beautiful, we all enjoyed it very much as a family.
So we as a family we give this camp site Warcombe Farm a 5 star rating and highly recommend staying here we are looking forward to going again next year.
Absolutely lovely place. Owner telephoned me as we were arriving late and the reception shuts at 5, telephoned with instructions. Very polite, helpful. Lovely clean site. Shower and toilet both exceptional, one of the best facilities that we have been to. Will definitely visit again
Had a fantastic stay here (helped by some lovely weather) over the April half-term. This site is so well kept and the toilet / shower blocks were immaculate. Great views over the coastline and perfectly placed for walks into nearby Mortehoe and the lovely Lee bay. Will definitely return after being made to feel very welcome throughout our stay.
Great North Devon caravan and camping site
We have just returned from a two week holiday at Warcombe Park, friendly and helpful staff at this clean and modern site, we would like to thank Glen who made us feel very welcome and gave us some good advice to make our stay that bit better.
Fabulous site - best site to date!
Very impressed with our first visit to Warcombe Farm caravan site. We have already booked again for the end of May. Phone conversation prior to arrival was inviting and made us confident with the site before we arrived.
Welcome and check-in easy, friendly and pleasant. Facilities are the best we have experienced. Shower block immaculate in all ways/ hot water/ plenty of showers/ toilets. Pitches were spacious and well kept. Dog walk was just perfect, with plenty of room and beautiful views. Would highly recommend!! Thank you and see you again. Ceri, Jane and G J L and M (the dogs).
Excellent facilities and very friendly
Really enjoyed my stay here past weekend. We arrived at 7pm and were taken to our pitch by a friendly man in a golf buggy, the site is big so this was a great help. The shower/toilet facilities were the best I've seen at a campsite, really clean and spacious. There's an on-site takeaway which we didn't try as ate out in the nearby towns. 5 out of 5, will revisit!
This is a great campsite, very well run with excellent facilities. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The campsite is really well laid out with very spacious pitches and they have a few trees to add protection from the sea breeze.
There is a nice little play area for the kids and the site shop is well stocked. The shower block is up there with the best we have seen. Would definitely recommend and will be using again.
My only concern would be this is a large site (200+ pitches) and I am not sure how busy it would get in mid summer and whether the facilities would get too busy?
